National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur (NIT Jamshedpur) is one of India’s premier public engineering institutions located in Adityapur, Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. It is recognized as an Institute of National Importance and is funded by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The institute is well known for its strong engineering programs, research activities, and high placement records. Established in 1960, NIT Jamshedpur was originally known as the Regional Institute of Technology (RIT) Jamshedpur. It was among the first eight Regional Engineering Colleges created during India’s second five-year plan to promote technical education.
